Central International Company was originally founded in 1984, as a DBA of Central Beef Company, which, at one time, was the largest importer in the United States of beef and lamb from Australia and New Zealand. A partnership was formed between Mr. Arthur Lang, President of Central Beef, and Mr. Del de Vos, President of Central International. CIC qu... ickly developed into a major exporter, initially handling meats into the Caribbean, which coincided with Central Beef's area of expertise. Within a short time, CIC expanded its food exports to include various meats (poultry, mutton, lamb, pork, beef and goat) as well as dairy goods, canned items, pulses, pickled meats and fish, rice, peanuts, salvage products and much more. Our main markets in the food division are the Caribbean, South and Central America, although we are happy to offer quotes to most worldwide destinations. CIC's hides and skins division has flourished steadily since its inception in 1987. Having a tri-lingual staff has helped us develop a strong market in Mexico, where we sell wet salted and wet blue hides, as well as sow skins. We also export these items to the Far East. Moreover, our exports to the Far East have become a substantial part of CIC's hides business. Working closely with some of the major tanneries in the USA, Italy and Russia has enabled us to transform this division into a substantial part of CIC's trade. In 1997, Del de Vos purchased Arthur Lang's interest in CIC, and Central International Company, LLC was formed, with sole proprietorship belonging to Mr. de Vos. In 1999, CIC opened a branch in Atlanta, primarily to expand CIC's worldwide operations. This office is responsible for domestic trade to the ethnic markets in the U.S. as well as exporting various meat items to the Far East.
