I specialize in helping people who have experienced stressful life events including trauma, a chronic medical illness or pain condition, depression, anxiety, or relationship difficulties. I offer teletherapy psychotherapy and educational online classes in Texas, Colorado, and Oregon. There are three things that I believe I know about you already. The first thing I know is that you are resilient. You have encountered a lot of stressful events in your life and you survived them all. Now you are looking for ways to cope and heal from the effects of those experiences. The next thing I know is that you are courageous. You are ready to face what has caused you to feel fearful, sad, or nervous. Finally, you are looking for someone with whom you can trust with your feelings and vulnerabilities. I will not judge you, invalidate your feelings, or mislead you. Take your time to read about my background and treatment philosophy and how I believe I can best help you. I understand that feeling safe and trusting are two of the most important things you need from me in order to explore and express your feelings in therapy. My interpersonal style is non-judgmental, honest, curious, and compassionate. I believe that authenticity and acceptance fosters a sense of safety and trust in our relationship. I respect your pace; I dont push or require you to talk about anything before you are ready. I will guide you with questions and reflections, but I will also respect your boundaries. I use therapeutic techniques that have been well supported by research and that have been recommended by both the American Psychological and Psychiatric Associations.
