The company is known to have the largest pumped storage capacity in the world. Sumitomo Corporation is one of Japan's major integrated business enterprises with 1800 megawatts of owned generating capacity and assets of more than 48.2 billion dollars. The Japanese expertise, work ethics, discipline, and fresh capital investments significantly improved plant reliability. CBK PCL upgraded the guaranteed capacity of all three power plants from 349 MW to a total guaranteed capacity of 728 MW. At present, CBK can provide more than 728 megawatts of clean, renewable and indigenous power. It is the heart of Luzon Grid providing Black Start Capability, Frequency Regulation, Load Following, Spinning Reserve and other ancillary services which help stabilize the grid.
