The Lorain/Medina CBCF activated its Covid-19 response plan on March 11, 2020 and has continued to re-evaluate that plan as information has become available from local, state and national health authorities, the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction and the the Governor's Response team. Members of the community who have symptoms of COVID... -19 (high temperature and cough or respiratory distress) or other illnesses will not be permitted to enter this facility for any purpose. All individuals entering this facility, including staff and visitors, are screened for symptoms and those exhibiting symptoms will be required to leave the premises. In response to the current health crisis and with the intent to limit the exposure of our staff and residents to COVID-19: The facility lobby will be open and accessible for property drop offs and deposit kiosk access only, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The lobby will not be accessible at other times. All individuals entering the facility will be screened for symptoms of COVID-19, including an infrared temperature scan. Those exhibiting symptoms (examples elevated temperature, cough, difficulty breathing) will be required to leave the premises. Those unwilling to be screened should not enter the lobby. On-site video visitation will not be available until further notice. We have made arrangements through our vendor, ICSolutions, for each resident to have one off site visit per week at no charge. You may still schedule a second visit, however, it will be at the regular cost. The facility will otherwise continue to operate normally including accepting new residents, providing necessary programming and discharging residents when they have met completion criteria.
