Cayuga Waterfront Trail

The Cayuga Waterfront Trail is two-thirds of the way constructed - our community's vision for a connected waterfront is now within reach. With your support, the new two-mile section linking the Farmers Market to Stewart Park will be furnished with benches, bike racks, mile markers, overlooks, additional landscaping, interpretive and directional sig... ns, and other amenities. Construction on the gap between Cass Park and the Farmers Market is expected to begin in the spring of 2013. Connections from the schools, adjacent neighborhoods and the downtown to the Waterfront will be improved at both Dey and Third Streets in 2013. The Cayuga Waterfront Trail Initiative has been working with the City of Ithaca on trail development for 10 years now. While we never imagined that building the trail would take more than a decade, we also believe that our planning, fundraising, maintenance, and advocacy efforts have kept this effort moving forward in partnership with the City of Ithaca. The heavy use of the trail has exceeded our expectations and the Trail has become integral part of our community's recreation and transportation system.
