The Manila Cavite Toll Expressway Project or CAVITEX brings travel safety and convenience. It consists of the operational R-1 and R1 extension, which traverses the Coast of Manila and connects the Roxas Boulevard to Cavite, with 2 toll plazas namely Paranaque Toll Plaza and Kawit Toll Plaza. The CAVITEX C5 Link, is now under construction linking Pa... ranaque to Taguig with an operational flyover crossing SLEX linking Taguig to Merville. Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC), its Joint Venture Partner of the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA), and PRAs subsidiary PEA Tollways Corporation (PEATC) performs the operation and maintenance of CAVITEX. Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC) was incorporated on 09 October 1995 primarily to undertake the design, construction, and financing of the Manila-Cavite Expressway Project. The Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway Project MCTEP more popularly known as CAVITEX is composed of 5 segments. On 27 December 1994, a Joint Venture Agreement was entered into for the development of the R-1 Expressway (now referred as Segment 1), CAVITEX C5 Link (now referred as Segments 2 and 3), and R-1 Extension (now referred as Segment 4 and Segment 5), collectively referred to as MCTEP. The following projects shall be constructed in segments, as follows: Segment 1 is a 6.48km expressway from Seaside Drive, Paranaque to Zapote, Las Pinas. This also includes the widening of Segment 1 mainline carriageway, construction of the Marina Left Turning Facility, upgrading of the Pacific Drive to Macapagal Blvd, and the widening of three mainline bridges: (1) Paranaque; (2) Las Pinas; and (3) Wawa. Segments 2 and 3, or the CAVITEX C5 Link , is a 7.7km expressway from Segment 1 to C5 Road, Taguig. Upon completion, these two segments are expected to reduce travel time to Makati and Taguig cities from Parañaque City, Las Piñas City, and Cavite Province by thirty (30) minutes.
