Wendy was born in Martinsville, Virginia, and raised in Bassett, Virginia and is a 1990 graduate of Bassett High School. Wendy attended Virginia Tech where she met her husband, Richard. Wendy received a BS magna cum laude in Psychology from Virginia Tech in 1994, and a MS in Speech-Language Pathology from Mississippi University for Women in 1998. W... endy and her husband moved to Northwest Arkansas in May of 2000. Originally founded as Wendy Cassady Speech Pathology on July 1, 2007, Cassady Children's Center provides speech, occupational, and physical therapy services to children ages birth to 18 years. Wendy started the company as an individual speech therapist working out of a spare bedroom in her home. On October 1, 2007 she moved into 1200 square foot facility and in December of 2007 hired one full-time speech therapist. On December 1, 2014, Wendy added occupational therapy and physical therapy services with one physical therapist and two occupational therapists. Today, Cassady Children's Center operates out of a 12,000 sq ft facility in Springdale. Cassady Children's Center employs 10 speech therapists, 5 occupational therapists, 4 physical therapists, and 6 office staff, including a bilingual translator. Her experience as a speech therapist includes 5 years in school settings, and 14 years in private practice. She is licensed by the Arkansas Board of Examiners and certified through the American Speech Language Hearing Association. Her specific areas of expertise include apraxia, feeding, fluency, cleft palate, and pragmatic language impairment. Wendy's husband is an engineering professor at the University of Arkansas.
