In July 2000, Sherri Hewitt-Laird co-founded The Caring Mission, designed to provide in-home services for seniors and the disabled. In 2003 Ms. Hewitt-Laird obtained 100% ownership, re-designing the company to meet the ever changing needs of the community. Today, the company operates under the name Caring Mission Home Care and services five countie... s in Southwestern Pennsylvania with three office locations. In 2008, Ms. Hewitt-Laird established Caring Mission Home Health, L.P. which operates under the name TCM Home Health, a company designed to provide medical care to the company's consumers. Coordination between both the non-medical and medical services provided, enables the company's seniors and disabled populations to "age in-place" while the company meet their needs as they progress through the aging process. Ms. Hewitt-Laird is very active in supporting her community and giving to those who are less fortunate. "I believe in paying it forward," said Ms. Laird. "It not only gives the company's team a sense of pride in helping others, but it builds character and compassion, rewarding those who participate." Over the past six years, Ms. Hewitt-Laird has donated over 1800 lbs. of beef and pork to local Meals-on-Wheels programs, Senior Centers, Women's Shelter and to Washington County City Mission. The company also recognize that holidays can be a bitter sweet time for many.
