North Americans are reaching a point where the number of cars is exceeding the number of people. In some cities, there are approximately 1.07 cars per person. The people who have more than one car are typically collectors or have an attachment to each car and as such are unable to part with them. At the same time, the demand for parking spaces incr... eases with each new car on the roads. With more condominiums being built to deal with space issues in urban centres and homes being built smaller, the number of private parking spaces is diminishing. Many homes now have more cars than their driveway and garage can handle. The solution to this has typically been either to sell off a car, or to move to a place with more parking. That is until the invention of the home car stacker. Companies, garages and car dealers, to handle the heavy supply of vehicles and the lack of space have traditionally used car stackers. While these applications are still in use, a new market has developed. The home consumer market is now seeing use of this practical solution for their own parking problems. The most common application of car stackers by consumers is in the garage. Garages currently house enough space for one car, vertically accessed by the driveway. However, with many newer garages, the space above is sometimes sufficient to accommodate a car stacker. In this case, the driver would drive up the ramp and then using the equipment to bring the car to centre, allowing a second car to drive underneath. Another option that is possible for garages with lower ceilings is to have a certified car stacker crew come in to perform a couple minor upgrades. These crews are experienced in installing car stackers in tighter places. For these kinds of operations, typically the crew would come in to first do some preliminary research on the garage.
