Capstone Farm

Becca Segaloff believes that learning to ride at every level should be safe, fun, and engaging. Her teaching philosophy has evolved during her nearly 25 years in the saddle and 16 years as a professional at some of the top A circuit barns in the country. She aims to help students set reasonable and measurable goals, and it is her personal goal to h... elp every student see progress during every single ride. Through her positive approach, she helps students stretch their comfort zones in order to improve their skills, understanding, and ultimately work their way up the ladder. While Becca has strong roots in the hunter/jumper community, she has dabbled in a little bit of everything horsey, from dressage, to eventing, to founding the UMass polo team (too) many years ago. She has worked for and been mentored by top A circuit trainers on both coasts, including running the lesson programs at Janie Weber's Stepping Stone Farm & Cory Hardy's Newbury Farm. In California, she was the assistant trainer & barn manager at Keri Kampsen's Sovereign Place & the Heidegger family's Monarch International, as well as Jill Hamilton & Nancy Thomas' Millennium Farm. Additionally, before her last move to California, Becca ran her own lesson program for 2 years out of Milestone Stable in Marlborough, Massachusetts. Her students have competed at the most prestigious shows on both coasts, and students that she taught in their formative years have gone on to win the National Junior Jumper Championship, compete in the Zoetis Million, and ride in the George Morris Horsemastership Sessions. When she's not riding or teaching, Becca spends time with her husband and 2 boys, as well as the family's two dogs. She is a UMass Amherst Animal Science alum, holds a Master's in Early Childhood Education from Lesley University and is a Massachusetts Licensed Riding Instructor.
