Camp Trapping

Cariboo Action Training Society (CATS) operates Camp Trapping, an six bed Aboriginal therapeutic program in a rural setting for male young offenders (12-19) from throughout the province of BC. This program is based by Prince George. This program is based on the Medicine Wheel and supports healing while addressing the areas of spiritual, emotional,... mental and physical well-being with a holistic approach to cultural service provision. Referrals to this program are made through Youth Probation. Students selected for the program usually have extensive Youth Court histories and are perceived to be in need of a highly-structured program building self-esteem and individual responsibility. We strive to support students to address anti-social behaviours and to positively modify attitudes through our individually-structured values based program that is rooted in Aboriginal culture, considering the unique heritage and origins of each youth.
