Calhoun County EMS

Calhoun County EMS is a county supported provider that covers 520 square miles of Calhoun County. We have 21 paid full time personnel with 27 part time employees. We respond to 2800 calls a year. Currently we crew three ambulances and one supervisor unit per shift. Our fleet consist of five (5) Frazer big box ambulances on 4500 Dodge Diesel Chassis... . ur supervisor unit is a Tahoe. We also have a 35 foot Special Response Trailer pulled by a Chevrolet 3500 chassis flatbed. The trailer is self contained and has a full complement of communications equipment to perform as a field command center. Additionally, we carry enough backboards and equipment to treat 40 patients in a disaster situation. Each ambulance is equipped with a fully loaded Life Pak 15. We also carry Physio Lucas on each unit along with our three volunteer units which are equipped with Life Pak 1000. We have started moving from Ferno to Stryker Power Pro stretchers with Power Load system. We moved into our new facility August of 2010. We have budgeted for and will began construction in late 2014 of a substation. We support 5 volunteer EMS and First Responder organizations in the county.Read More
