CALEDUS was formed in 2003 by Paul Howlett and Derek McLeod as a service sector supplier to provide drilling, completions, fishing, and downhole services to the oil and gas industry. Started and headquartered in Aberdeen in the United Kingdom to provide for the UK North Sea market, CALEDUS' patented range of well construction technology has establi... shed the company as a supplier in the Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa and North America geo-markets. CALEDUS completed its first acquisition in 2004 with the purchase of the RotoTEC® product line from Hydril UK Ltd, a range of drill-pipe deployed tools to reduce torque, drag and casing wear during drilling operations. In early 2005 CALEDUS completed its second purchase with the acquisition of Johnshaven Precision Engineering Ltd (JPE) a precision engineering, manufacturing, fabrication and repair business. Along with the purchase came a 5 acre operational site and 15 highly skilled and experienced employees. January 2006 saw CALEDUS successfully deploy the first SlimWELL® system in a Field Trial for Talisman in North America. CALEDUS, in late 2006, acquired Brunel Oilfield Services (UK) Ltd (BOS) and it's engineered polymer thermoplastic casing and liner centraliser - the Ezee-Glider® 2000 - that has taken the market by storm since its introduction in 2000. In December 2006 CALEDUS commissioned the second size of SlimWELL®. In September 2007 SlimWELL® SideTRACK is available for sidetrack, multi-lateral, and infill drilling. Today CALEDUS operates two main business streams: SlimWELL® well construction technology - An evolutionary well construction technology based on a bottom's up design of close-clearance, flush-jointed liners.
