Funding for the CAL FIRE Benevolent Foundation comes from a variety of sources. In fiscal year 2018, the CAL FIRE Benevolent Foundation provided assistance for 30 events, assisting 70 firefighters and their families, providing over $107,000 in direct assistance and in supporting of those that support all of us, not only in California, but for firef... ighters and their families all over the United States. Since November 1, 2018, we have provided an additional $175,000 to Firefighters and their families who have been impacted by the Paradise Fire. CAL FIRE is Californias Fire Department and the 2nd largest fire department in the United States. The goal of the CAL FIRE Firefighters is to raise funds throughout the year by hosting many events up and down California while also encouraging healthy activity in a family friendly environment. This allows us to address the importance of assisting families of fallen firefighters and firefighters and their families in need of financial assistance due to unforeseen illness, cancer diagnoses, natural disaster, and other assistance needs. We are also here to help Fire Department members everywhere who are diagnosed with cancer and other illness while helping bring awareness about what we can do to keep cancer out of the workplace and environments that Firefighters are exposed to every day.
