About Cabinet Factory
In 1980, George H. Lewis was working as an independent sales representative for the kitchen and bath industry. Typically, he called on cabinet dealers to sell lines of inventory from various manufacturers. At this time the concept of the home improvement store had not yet been born. Two years later, George saw the wave of the future coming with Big Box Home Center stores opening and the do it yourself craze beginning. George opened the Cabinet Factory and brought his sons on to grow with the retail side and to manage the growing home center relationships. In the early 1990s George took advantage of the growing retail business and moved away from the Home Center supply. The new business included a showroom, a warehouse, and a working counter-top shop.
