By Your Side Birth Services

We are a group of experienced, certified birth and postpartum doulas working together to provide expectant families with birth and postpartum doula services. By Your Side Birth Services, LLC has been serving women in the Washington DC metropolitan area since June, 2009. We provide services to families birthing at Holy Cross Hospital, Shady Grove Ad... ventist Hospital, Sibley Memorial Hospital, George Washington University Hospital, Washington Hospital Center, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Georgetown University Hospital and other DC area birthing facilities. Our postpartum doulas provide in home support throughout the Washington DC metropolitan area. Prior to the birth of your baby we invite you to attend one of our open houses to meet the doulas in our practice, have your questions answered and see if we are a good fit for you and those who will be with you during your labor and birth and once home with your newborn. Our birth doulas provide continuous, one-to-one support with comfort measures, position changes and informational and emotional support. Your doula will stay with you throughout your birthing experience until a few hours after your baby is born. During that initial post-partum time, she will gladly assist you with initial breastfeeding, if you desire. Please know that the doulas of By Your Side Birth Services, LLC welcome all those whom you choose to participate in your birth experience. We strive to make sure they are included and feel well supported. The fee for our birth doula program is $1000. Our services include: The range of services that our postpartum doulas provide depend on your individual family needs on a daily or weekly basis. We recommend more help at the start of the 4th trimester and taper off in the ensuing weeks. Some families have the support of family and friends once home with the baby and may benefit from assistance once family members and friends are no longer able to help.
