I began my working life in retail starting as a sales assistant progressing onwards to become Manager of a well known high street shop. Once married, I joined the Civil Service working for what was then the Department of Health and Social Security. Whilst this was a very challenging role it also proved to be very enjoyable and every day was different. After 9 years with the DHSS I joined my husband in his business; this was to prove the turning point of my future career. Unfortunately, at that time I knew nothing of how to prepare professional accounts, VAT or payroll, therefore with my husband`s support I enrolled with The Association of Accounting Technicians on a course in Accounting and Business Administration. Since obtaining my professional qualification more than 20 years ago I have worked for both a well known national firm of accountants and a local firm of accountants. The last 8 years of my working life whilst in employment were spent as Practice and Payroll Manager and it is with the experienced and knowledge I have gained in this role that inspired me to setup on my own providing Payroll Services.
