A major snowstorm was at hand one evening during church camp.... That moment, I had to leave to not get thrust in the massive amounts of white fluff that would prevent me from getting to work. On the way home, I found myself in a car with two pastors. I casually mentioned my Latino origins, then Alex from Bridge to Grace proceeded excitedly to show me videos of the last mission trips to Nicaragua. Upon a few seconds of watching the first video, my heart burned with a calling that said to go. He mentioned the focus was to minister to the people who have never heard the gospel, and suddenly the words I received from a prior prophecy crossed my mind, which stated that God wants to send me to far unreached places that have not heard the gospel. It was without a doubt, a divine intervention. I went to Nicaragua, and my heart was captured. The first time I laid eyes on the land, I noticed the green rich goodness of God clothed with trees and other plants. The humidity hit me in full force; everything is wet yet vibrant. As abundant of a country Nicaragua is physically, I noticed the great hunger for life internally. It is amused with witchcraft and carnal endeavors that are embedded deep within the culture. In the Miskito tribes, it is apparent they put their faith in objects and witch doctors instead of the true God. The missions trip had dangers in 2017, and possibly even more risks the second time I went in 2019. However, I can say with all my heart, it was worth the long bumpy car rides, dirty conditions, battle with the mosquitoes, and the potential threat of harm.
