Brown & Brown, Inc., together with its subsidiaries (collectively,Brown & Brown), is headquartered in Daytona Beach with offices located throughout the United States, and has more than 10,000 teammates nationwide. In the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the Board of Directors, corporate officers, and Brown & Brown teammates became very con... cerned about the welfare of Company employees affected by these disasters, as well as the welfare of other hurricane victims not associated with Brown & Brown. Based on this concern, the Brown & Brown Disaster Relief Foundation, Inc. (the Foundation) was established. The Foundation will provide funds for the health and support of Brown & Brown teammates and individuals who are not employed by Brown & Brown and for their family members who have experienced a loss of home or other property and/or physical injury as a result of a natural disaster or other form of emergency hardship. The Foundation expects to assist individuals not employed by Brown & Brown, Inc. by making grants to other nonprofit disaster relief organizations that have been recognized to be organizations described by Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (the Code), and that are engaged in more general efforts to provide disaster relief. The Foundation also expects, to the extent of available funds, to assist individuals not employed by Brown & Brown by making grants to individuals who are family members, friends or neighbors of Brown & Brown teammates, individuals who are former employees of Brown & Brown, including retirees, individuals who do business with Brown & Brown, and individuals who are family members, friends, or neighbors of individuals who do business with Brown & Brown.Read More
