About Broadband Planning

Broadband Planning is operated by Broadband Consulting LLC. Its Managing Member is Richard Price. Richard Price has worked in all aspects of Telecommunication Distribution for over 30 years. Based in Georgia, he has been involved in the development of cable TV for high density housing since its beginning. He has worked with leading Telecommunications Providers and Property Development Companies throughout the nation, developing new systems and managing existing networks. Mr. Price has participated in the construction of rural and inner city networks and has been an innovator in construction methods. In 1985, he led the movement and was the first contractor to install utilities in a joint trench in Georgia. The participants were Georgia Power, Southern Bell and Wometco Cable TV. In 1985, he led the movement and was the first contractor to install utilities in a joint trench in Georgia. The participants were Georgia Power, Southern Bell and Wometco Cable TV. Today, joint trench utility construction is common place in Georgia. Throughout the late 80's and early 90's, he also directed the acquisition of Multi-Family cable TV Right of Entry Agreements for companies in Atlanta and Los Angeles. These systems were owned by franchise cable operators including Prime Cable, Wometco, Media One, Comcast and Charter Communications. By 1997 he had managed the negotiation of Right of Entry Agreements and marketing rights on over 600,000 apartment units for franchise cable TV operators. Mr. Price returned to network construction and management with the opportunity to become a Partner and President of National Satellite Inc (NSI), a cable TV construction company. In the begining, NSI specialized in building cable and internet distribution systems in Multi-Family housing for franchise cable TV operators. A construction slowdown in 2000 caused NSI to re-invent itself to become a Private Cable Operator (PCO) when it purchased Premier Home, a non-performing Division of Southern Company/Georgia Power. Premier Home was a Pioneer in the bundling of cable TV, telephone, internet access and utility billing to Apartment Communities.
