About Bristol Festivals

Brisfest is an annual festival organised by the Bristol Festival Community Group; a registered charity set up to support our community in a variety of ways. Bristol Festival Community Group is a not for profit charitable organisation that was set up in 2007 following the sad demise of Ashton Court Festival. It was started by a group of volunteers who felt it vital that Bristol retained a not for profit festival to showcase local artists and was officially registered as a charity in 2008. It is a volunteer-run organisation, led by a board of trustees and comprising a committee of over 200 volunteer members. All proceeds from our events go back into the community festival and supporting our charitable work in training volunteers and providing a major showcase for local talent. For more information see www.bristolfestivalcommunitygroup.co.uk The main objective of the charity is to support and promote music, art and culture in the South West, whilst aiding personal development and communitRead more

For more information see www.bristolfestivalcommunitygroup.co.uk The main objective of the charity is to support and promote music, art and culture in the South West, whilst aiding personal development and community cohesion. This is done through staging high profile events that increase exposure for a wide range of local artists, and through a range of training and personal development programmes. Brisfest was first staged in 2008, attracting 8,000 visitors to the centre of Bristol. In 2012, 20,000 people attended as the festival made a successful move to the Ashton Court Estate, following huge popular demand. Headliners have included De La Soul, Hawkwind, Primal Scream and Roni Size alongside a huge range of up and coming local acts. After six years of successful shows Brisfest had its first fallow year in 2014, vowing to return in 2015 with something big, which we hope the Arcadia show fulfils. We aim to return to our much loved Brisfest event style in the future, continuing to promote local talent to its fullest. Alongside Brisfest we also run the popular Rave-On-Avon events, run venues and stages at any other UK festivals and work behind the scenes on a plethora of other Bristol events promoting local music, art and culture.
