Brain Injury Services / Step Up! ABI Recovery clients have access to a variety of professional services, including the clinical services of a psychologist, social worker or behaviour therapist. Other professionals, such as Occupational Therapists or Speech Language Pathologists can be added to the team, as needed. Therapeutic groups, group recreational activities, as well as a 24-hour help line are also offered. The agencys overarching goal is to enhance the clients quality of life by maximizing their independence. Because each client is recognized and respected as an individual, no two rehabilitation programs are exactly alike. They are custom-designed to respond to each clients needs and aspirations. The agency is renowned for conducting original, ground-breaking research into brain injury rehabilitation, ensuring that clients have access to the most effective, up-to-date techniques. As a result of this leading-edge knowledge base, the agency has also become a preferred teaching centre for several universities and colleges who send their senior students here for front-line training.
