Click this link https://www.arteforeverybody.com/brader "Brader spent his last four winters in this country at the Stark County Infirmary, here in Canton. It was in November of 1896, while he was an "inmate" here, that Brader learned his eldest brother Aloys, who had remained in their home village of Kaltbrunn, had died seven years earlier, and had left a substantial inheritance to him. By 31 December 1895 Brader had "absconded" from the infirmary, and by February of the following year, he was home in Switzerland. He was 62 years old." Reference: The Legacy of Ferdinand A. October 16, 2018: The Property of Jacob and Eliza Matz, drawing #545 was sold at auction today by Leslie Hindman Auctioneers in Chicago. The Matz drawing was listed on page 230 of the checklist of known drawings in the book The Legacy of Ferdinand A. Brader, but its location was unknown. The drawing had traveled from Paris, Ohio all the way to Massachusetts and the years later on to Chicago to be auctioned. It is currently receiving treatment at McKay Lodge Conservation Studio in Oberlin, and will eventually be part of another Ohio family home and history.
