Marshfield Fire Local 2568 worked long hours and were away from their families during this most recent blizzard. Throughout the course of the storm, we responded to over 300 calls for service. During this busy storm we had five major building fires. Fortunately, there were not any injuries during these incidents. The department is slowly returning... to its normal day-to-day operations. A big thank you goes out to Duxbury, Pembroke, Norwell, Scituate, Kingston, and Bridgewater fire departments for their mutual aide assistance throughout the past week. We would also like to extend our thanks to the Department of Fire Service for providing use of their Rehab Truck at the Ames Ave fire and the National Guard for their assistance during and after the blizzard. If you would like to learn more about Boston MedFlight click the following link. Boston MedFlight 1-24-13 Group 4 responded to 1505 Ocean Street for a shipping container on fire. Engines 1 and 2, Quint 1, Paramedic 1 and 2, and Cars 2 and 3 responded quickly and exstinguished the fire. Ocean Street was closed for about an hour. 12-20-12 at 12:16am Group 2 on duty. Engines 1 and 2 , Quint 1 and Paramedic 1 responded to a report of multiple boats on fire at Taylor Marina. Engine 1 was first on scene reporting heavy fire from two 30+ foot boats with multiple boats and homes as nearby exposures. A first and second alarm were struck and residents in nearby homes were evacuated. The damage included three boats destroyed and four boats damaged. The cause remains under investigation.
