About Boots and Buddies

Therapeutic riding is an equine-assisted activity for the purpose of contributing positively to the cognitive, physical, emotional and social well-being of individuals with special needs. While riding, students will build self-confidence, physical strength, improve communication skills, socialize with other riders, develop focus and concentration skills, and increase balance and flexibility while benefitting from the intuitiveness and the gentleness of the horse. Join our "sister program", AATS, Therapeutic riding is a form of cognitive and physical therapy that takes place on horseback. The activities and exercises performed on the horses are beneficial for riders with different challenges, including, among others: The dedicated team at Boots and Buddies has developed a multitude of different equine-related activities for therapeutic purposes, collectively known as equine-assisted activities and therapies (EAAT). These activities are supervised by a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH) Certified Therapeutic Riding instructor with the assistance of trained volunteers.
