At the Boothe Eye Care, we make certain that every patient undergoing laser eye treatment has a comfortable and positive experience, from the moment he or she arrives for a consultation to the final follow-up visit with Dr. William Boothe. Our staff of friendly and knowledgeable health professionals understands that any decision to undergo surgery... can generate some degree of anxiety. We provide the highest quality care to ensure that our patients know exactly what to expect before, during and after the surgery. Every laser surgery appointment is preceded by a full consultation with Dr. Boothe. During this visit, Dr. Boothe will examine your eyes, ask you about your medical history, and answer any questions you may have about the procedure. In preparation for the procedure, Dr. Boothe or a staff clinician may also administer a number of tests to map the exact contours and curvature of your eye. Prior to your scheduled procedure, you will need to designate a friend or family member who will be able to accompany you to the Boothe Eye Care on the day of your surgery and drive you home following the procedure. While you will be able to resume most activities immediately after the procedure, you should avoid operating a car while waiting for the eye to heal. Also remember to get a good night's rest the evening before your scheduled operation. On the day of your surgery, dress comfortably. When you arrive at the clinic for the procedure, our staff will help you relax and get settled. Once you are ready, Dr. Boothe will begin the procedure with an anesthetic eye drop to make you comfortable. Depending on the refractive error in your vision, the actual excimer laser treatment can take anywhere from a few seconds to a minute.
