In Weston Super Mare we have set up a Creative Space run for and by young people. The Creative Space is currently running weekly workshops in art and dance, a choir and the Weston Ensemble music project. We deliver youth work and youth arts work in North Somerset and South Wiltshire and have secured funding from the Youth Investment Fund to create... boombox mobile youth provision. In 2008 we were the largest single employer of creative apprentices and interns in the South West and our model of empowering young people has produced young people's led business units developing arts enterprise in Bridgwater Arts Centre and for BANES Arts Development team. From this model we have developed what is now a highly successful video production unit boomsatsuma productions (link) creating corporate sales, information and third sector videos with a staff of professional film makers with profits going back into our work with young people. We are a respected provider of public sector contracts and are currently delivering the Bristol WORKS contract for Bristol City Council and have just completed a 3 year contract setting up a Participatory Arts programme for Bath and North East Somerset Council. We also run independent creative media and acting courses for post16 learners in Bristol and are an established training provider acknowledged in the region as changing the face of post 16 creative education in Bristol.
