BodyMods has always been a huge proponent of education and higher learning, supporting its local students wherever possible. We were all there once and know very well the struggles almost all students face on a day to day basis, both personally and financially. It goes without saying, being a student isn't easy. Problems today, however, seem more p... revalent now than ever before. To simply acknowledge that you understand today's student pleas, regarding debt loads and other such topics, is one thing but to see it first hand is another story all unto itself. It wasn't until we opened our Central City store in Surrey, British Columbia, that we were able to fully grasp the scale of the hotly contested issues at hand. You see, conveniently attached to that mall is the renowned Simon Fraser University, chock full with students that pass our store all day long. The problems are front and centre, quite literally, as we see and hear first-hand many of their stories. To us, it doesn't seem right that because you've chosen to become a student and invest now for your future and that of society in general, you be reduced to a mere wishful window shopper. The last thing we want is to be one of those stuffy, over-priced stores that serve as nothing more than a place full of awesome wares only to be admired and wished for from a distance. If anything, we believe student efforts and sacrifices should be rewarded and nurtured via investing in them NOW. So what could a company like BodyMods possibly do to help ease the strains endured by students? After all, we're just in retail. Well for starters, we can help via student fund raisers and support dry grads but that's for another area in BM Causes to be read about. What about a student discount program of some sort? Something that allows a student to indulge where they otherwise wouldn't be able to.
