Blue Mountain Builders was founded in 1988 with a distinct vision-a vision that we still remain faithful to. We are a team of skilled artisans who design and build extraordinary, one-of-a-kind homes. Each home that we build is individually handcrafted using only the finest materials and techniques. With deep respect of our area's profound beauty, we design each home to blend seamlessly into the surrounding landscape and incorporate an abundance of outdoor living spaces. One of the greatest compliments that we receive is that our homes appear as if they had always been there. Blue Mountain Builders stands alone in the Central Virginia area with our reputation of workmanship with antique hand-hewn log cabins, post and beam frames, and stone masonry. Heart pine, chestnut, slate, soapstone, travertine, and of course copper, are some of the materials we cherish and use in our projects. Homes constructed by Blue Mountain Builders have always been eco-friendly and energy efficient, long before the current shift towards sustainable building. We often use materials that are renewable, recyclable, and biodegradable. Beyond that, we make use of materials that have been carefully salvaged from local structures or have come from local sawmills or quarries. Our homes are well insulated and most incorporate radiant heated floors providing the highest level of comfort and energy savings. The list goes on, but perhaps the greatest ecological aspect of our homes is that they are designed and built with a timelessness that will insure that they will be appreciated and cared for in the centuries to come.
