Blakeway

Blakeway provided comprehensive master planning, utility and stormwater modeling, and site infrastructure design for High Chapparel Industrial Park located in Chesapeake, VA. The complex totals 8-acres and yields over 75,000sf of lease space. The storwmwater design for this site required modeling of the up-stream drainage area as well as the downst... ream receiving waters. Approximately 220 acres drained through the site prior to development. The design solution called for this water to be re-routed through a series of ditch and closed pipe systems. Blakeway also designed two 50% efficient retention ponds in order to meet water quality and quantity requirements. An additional structural BMP was added to provide additional pollutant removal. The stormwater was modeled with an SCSI, 24-hour storm using ICPR. Utility design included hydraulic modeling of the domestic and fire water distribution systems using WaterCAD. Blakeway also provided gravity sanitary system design including a pump station and force main connecting to the Hampton Roads Sanitation District system. Additional services include the design of pavement sections for drive isles, concrete entrances and turn lanes. Blakeway also helped facilitate coordination with the Army Corps of Engineers for wetland permitting and preparation of stormwater and E&S permits for city and state approvals.Read More
