BLAGO Fund

BLAGO Fund was formed in 1998 by the Serbian Unity Congress. Great patrons of the fund are HRH CP Alexander Karageorgevich and His Grace Bishop Jovan of Sumadija Diocese. It is all about this: The goal of the BLAGO Fund is to preserve and promote Serbian treasures in a way that ties together the past, present and future. It has two clear objectives... . The first is to record, archive and conserve the most vulnerable products of our culture in a systematic and organized way and to disseminate this information to specialists and the general public alike. The second is to encourage and support the development of exceptional Serbian talent. Since 1998 the BLAGO Fund has undertaken the following efforts: 1998 First BLAGO fundraiser in San Francisco. The very first BLAGO Archive of Monastery Ravanica was accomplished in June of 1998. As the state of digital photography was in its infancy, majority of pictures taken were 35mm positives. Nikon N90S was used for slides, and Fuji-Nikon E2 (1M px SLR) was used for digital and VR photographs. Later in the year the very first archive appeared on our web site.
