The Blackland Group was founded in 2008 by Michael George, Sr. and Michael L. George upon the legacy and expertise of George Group Consulting, a leading operational management consulting firm. For 22 years, George Group was led by Michael George, Sr. and helped leading Fortune 1000 companies, U.S. government agencies, the U.S. Department of Defense... and the branches of the U.S. armed forces to achieve dramatic operational improvements through the implementation of Lean Six Sigma practices. During this time, George Group also successfully partnered with numerous leading private equity investors to execute operationally-focused buyout investing and value creation strategies. After the George Group was sold to Accenture in 2007, Blackland was founded as the successor to this operationally-focused investing strategy. The Blackland Group invests the capital of the George family, as well as its co-investor relationships.
