"We are by no means perfect and have a ways to go to realize our goal to be the best rural hospital in the state. Some of the challenges in reaching this goal have been in the recruitment of a new administrative team and attracting physicians to certain services at the hospital." Ruwoldt said 2009 is going to be a "very challenging year but we are... up for the challenge. We are struggling with the State's financial cuts to health care but will strive to not only maintain but expand services. We are planning to expand primary care services in Wurtsboro and hope to open a new office in Callicoon. Two months ago we added more physical therapy coverage at Callicoon and the service quickly filled with patients." He concluded our conversation saying, "Overall I am happy to report that the hospital is going strong and we are striving to be great at what we do."
