Bevendean Primary School

Bevendean is a fantastic school and I am really proud to be Headteacher here. We have an exceptional staff team of 14 class teachers plus an additional 8 others offering support interventions. We have teaching assistants and individual needs assistants supporting children across all key stages. We have 3 learning mentors and a further 10 office, ad... ministration and site staff. The sense of care and commitment to our children is palpable throughout the school and you can be sure that your child will be known as an individual and very well cared for. All our staff value friendliness, team-work, and support as some of their core values, and this shows through when you visit our school. Our aim is to provide exciting learning experiences which challenge and motivate children to really become involved in their learning. We want to inspire them to have great aspirations for their future, to be successful learners and confident individuals. We want them to take responsibility for their own behaviour and to work with us to push themselves to achieve the highest standards. From the very earliest days in school we help children to realise that good learning should never be easy and to grow in their ability to persevere and to work together. We believe we are successful because our children make good progress and 98% (the highest in Brighton & Hove) say they enjoy learning. e believe that children should have a well-resourced, well looked after school in which to learn and we have made a significant financial commitment to making sure this is the case. The school environment, inside and out, is vibrant and reflects the high standards that we want for our children who are polite, well behaved and full of pride in their school.
