She has been facilitating repatriations since the 1980s and has the honor and privilege of facilitating repatriations for over 35 years. She is on the faculty of the National Preservation Institute and has taught webinars for and was featured in videos made by the National NAGPRA Program. Jan holds a B.A. in Studio Art and Art History from California State University, Sacramento and an M.S. in Museum and Field Studies from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Since joining Bernstein & Associates in 2019, Jane has has facilitated the repatriation of remains belonging to several hundred ancestors and hundreds of funerary objects from Alaska to Florida to Southern Utah.
