Benson's Sweet Shop

You could say it's in the blood! The name, "Benson's", originates from my great grandmother, Jessie Benson. Jessie had a great fondness for two things in life: chocolate and Nikki, her black poodle. My grandpa always had a packet of polo's in his pocket and my granny used to make her own coconut ice to her own special recipe. My dad's favourite swe... ets growing up were aniseed balls, pear drops, kali (sherbet), hard liquorice sticks, halfpenny chews, flying saucers, wine gums. His sweet tooth still continues to this day where he loves fondant banana's and Haribo jelly snakes. My mum loved Fry's chocolate cream bars and Turkish Delight, along with Newberry Fruits at Christmas. When I was a little girl, my brother and I used to get excited about our weekly visits to our local sweet shop for a Pick 'n' Mix. This included white mice, highland toffee bars, wham bars, flying saucers, anglo bubbly, fruit salads, cola bottles and milk bottles. Most of which we still stock today. I have decided to take my passion for sweets and open our flagship store here in Nottingham. We intend to sell all types of different confectionary so that everyone can find their favourites from years gone by right up to the present day in a bright, fun, friendly environment. Our aim is to be a confectionary specialist stocking Traditional Sweets, Retro Sweets, Novelty Sweets, Pick 'n' Mix, Handmade Fudge, Belgium Chocolate Truffles, Fine Liquorice, American Candy, Seasonal Sweets plus many more.
