About some of the people at Bench International: Our Consultants Charles Bench was the founder of the company and his exposure to the magical product ``Africa`` came during a spell in London with South African Airways. By the time he had arrived in Australia to set up his business he had already paddled through Botswana's Okavango Delta - a pretty rare thing to do in those days, and canoed the Zambezi and driven all around South Africa inspecting hotels and tourism attractions. He put together his first Safari Holiday Brochure in 1969 together with the associated marketing campaign. Whilst not immediately a success it became the foundation stone on which many subsequent programmes were based and was at the forefront of African travel for the Australian traveller.
