BELTRAMI was founded in 1986 by Herwig Callewier who understood as a Belgian agent for the German Jura limestone producer STIEGLER, that customers needed a reliable wholesaler in their region in order to realise an efficient service with rigidly enforced quality control and a large stock holding. In 1989 Stefaan Callewier, Herwig's brother, was int... roduced as a managing partner in the company. His contribution soon made Beltrami's production facilities grow. At the beginning of the nineties Beltrami started to make a name for itself for discovering new products and finishes in natural stone: as one of the first in Europe, Beltrami began the direct import of Chinesegranites and basalts e.g. PEPPERINO DARK, TWILIGHT and SUNRISE.
