We, at Bellingham Alternative Library, are a lending-library and education cooperative. As a co-op, we are member coordinated & curated. Our books are chosen from a member-built request list. We have a collection of over 3000 books- including comics, graphic novels, magazines & art books. We specialize in experimental fiction & non-fiction, indepen... dently published materials & local authors and artists. Our center is open everyday for everyone and especially encourages those who are looking for an alternative to traditional education. We warmly welcome those with less traditional education- including those people who are poor, poorly educated, young, homeless, disabled or elderly. We have stimulating reading, arts, & discussion spaces. Our aim is to provide a center for intellectual and artistic growth and a community space for diverse members of Bellingham, WA to connect through their ideas and imaginations.
