Established in 1997. With an ever expanding online business, owner Renee Claire has decided to expand the brand with a new retail location in Los Angeles. The new boutique sits right in the heart of the West 3rd Street shopping district, a growing, vibrant area of Hollywood that is currently expanding and has amazing plans for beautification and re... vitalization. Claire's use of high quality cotton sateens, detailed piping, and her eye for prints has made BedHead an industry standard for couture loungewear. This, along with the fact that all Bedhead Pajamas are made right here in downtown Los Angeles, culminates into Renee Claire being a true Angeleno who has a vested interest in seeing the West 3rd shopping district grow and thrive. Renee Claire grew up in a small town of Ontario, Canada called Amherstburg. She spent time in the cold winters sewing clothes for herself in the basement, honing her sense of color, pattern & cloth and dreaming of being a clothing designer, living the California lifestyle as seen in photographs and on TV. In 1981, Renee decided to load up her van with her few possessions and head to L.A. where she waited on tables in numerous restaurants by night, designing her dress & outwear collection by day. In the late 90's public interest in dresses declined and was replaced by sportswear and as Renee was delivering what she considered to possibly be her last collection of dresses to a local retailer, she saw a pair of pajamas in the window of the boutique and thought, "I could top that". As a consequence, Bedhead was born! Within 3 years the company was producing over 50,000 pairs of pajamas, all locally cut & sewn, culminating today in over 70 jobs and counting.Read More
