About Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit
The Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit provides direct auxiliary instructional support to students attending non-public schools in Beaver County. Funds for these services are provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Education through legislation known as Act 89. These services assist non-public school faculty with appropriate strategies and adaptations for academically struggling students. The non-public school program serves over 1,000 students enrolled in Beaver County's non-public schools providing services such as remedial reading and math instruction, guidance counseling and speech therapy. The company's staff is comprised of 4 highly qualified teachers with nearly 100 years of combined experience in education. This past year the NPS staff worked in tandem with the BVIU TaC team to train and support the non-public schools with the implementation of DIBELS testing and progress monitoring.
