Bayfront Nato

From 1982 to 1992, Bayfront NATO, Inc. served as a sponsor for a Section 202 subsidized housing application to the U.S. Department of Housing and urban Development. In 1992 Bayfront NATO, Inc. was awarded a Capital Advance Fund Reservation for the construction of a 40 unit elderly housing project for very low-income persons aged 62 years or older.... This $2.9 million project was completed in 1994. As a part of the grant award, Bayfront NATO, Inc. was required to form a separate corporation whose sole purpose is to own and operate the housing complex. In dedicating the housing complex in memory of Alexander W. Thompson, Sr., Bayfront NATO formed this separate non-profit corporation entitled the Alex W. Thompson Housing Corporation that is governed by a seven-member board of Directors. Bayfront NATO, Inc. maintains their commitment to the project through a close working association with the AWT Housing Corporation. The Scope of Services provided by Bayfront NATO, Inc. includes Housing Development and Housing Counseling, Infant/Toddler/Pre-School & After-School Child Care, Social Services/Case Management, Prevention Based Youth Services, Dance/Ballet, and a partnership of health/dental care services in conjunction with Community Health Net of Erie. The agency also provides space for offices for the Erie County WIC (Womens, Infants, and Childrens) Program which is operated by the United Neighborhood Facilities Health Care Corporation (UNFHCC).
