About Bay Veterinary Group
Originally part of the Rangitaiki Plains Dairy Company, who employed their first vet in 1923, BayVets was formed after the 1987 Edgecumbe earthquake, at which time it was decided to split the vet side of the business away from the dairy company. The incumbent Vets at the time were offered the business on favourable terms and accepted, thus creating Edgecumbe vets. In 2008 the name was changed to better describe our service area. BayVets currently consists of 3 clinics; Edgecumbe, Whakatane and Kawerau with an agency in Opotiki (Lowes Hire and Engineering). We are one of the largest privately owned Vet practices serving the Bay of Plenty.
