My name is Jon Nichols and Im currently a grad student at Harvard University pursuing a Masters in Information Technology. I graduated in May of 2009 from the University of Michigan with a Bachelors degree in Sport Management. Im originally from Cooper City, Florida, a small suburb located between Fort Lauderdale and Miami. I started doing basketba... ll statistical research in 2006 for NBADraft.net. Since then, my work has been featured at HoopsAnalyst, 82games, CourtsideTimes, HoopsDaily, RealGM, Hardwood Paroxysm, and Third Quarter Collapse. I have performed statistical research on many issues, including an extensive look at the draft and college prospects, the translation of Euroleague stats to the NBA, player interaction issues, the impact of shot blockers, the importance of three-point shooting, the effectiveness of different shot types, in-game changes in shooting styles, the effects of superstars on three-point shooting, and many other topics. I have also developed a player rating system called Composite Score, a measure for player value called Value Rating, and a system of classifying players called PAC. Basketball-Statistics.com was started in October of 2008 so that I could present all of my research in one place. I tend to post new articles twice a week, although that is not set in stone.
