BaseballSoftballUK (BSUK) is the national development agency for baseball and softball in the United Kingdom. BSUK has provided services to the British Softball Federation (BSF) and the baseball community for more than 20 years, with the ambition of developing and increasing the levels of participation, skill and achievement of baseball and softbal... l across the United Kingdom. Formed in 2000, BSUK employs 12 full-time staff, working towards the goal of making the sports stronger, safer, and more sustainable for future generations. More people playing baseball and softball in more places through: BaseballSoftballUK was awarded its full funding request from Sport England for the period from 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2021, totaling £1,081,000. Historically, very few sports are awarded their full request for core funding, and to receive this level of grant is a clear vote of confidence by Sport England in both the vision set out in BSUKs application and its track record of delivery over past funding cycles. In communicating the outcome of the funding application to BSUK on 12 December, Sport England made the point that the agencys application was clear and easy to follow and included a credible and appropriate response to Sport Englands requirement that sports become more self-sufficient over time through commercial development. As part of BaseballSoftballUKs goal to achieve self-reliance in the future, the company increased the size of the Commercial team in 2019 to three members, with the goal of increasing the companys private funding.
