K... aonne investments was established in 2005 by a group of selected individuals that combined their renowned expertise over many years in the animal feed business. To fit into the larger business model, the stakeholders have focused on an expansion strategy by establishing their own feed mills throughout selected areas in South Africa. Barnlab has established and acquired its first feed mill near Vereeniging, Gauteng in 2014. Currently, the company owns 3 factories (Vereeniging, Riviersonderend and Vryburg) with a total capacity of 12 000 tonnes per month and another subcontracted feed mill near Cullinan to manufacture all the required livestock feed products for their clients. The aim with Barnlab's feed milling business is to carefully select higher intensity livestock production areas with an ideal location in various provinces to further expand its feed business. Expansion happens through acquisitions, partnerships, expansion of existing infrastructure, or own development. Through Barnlab, the shareholders have positioned themselves to pursue their common goal of furthering the business growth in the animal feed and production industries.
