Dear Parents and Bamberg One Community: As we continue to de... al with the COVID 19 pandemic, please know that Bamberg School District One is committed to ensuring the health and safety of all students and staff to the best of our ability. As the Superintendent, I also want to ensure transparency to every degree possible regarding the district and our COVID 19 responses. We continue to have questions regarding quarantine requirements and positive cases. Quarantine is required of everyone who is determined to have had exposure to someone who has tested positive for COVID 19. This does not mean that everyone who is required to quarantine is also positive. The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control determines who should quarantine and for how long, and the school district follows their recommendations. The district reports positive COVID 19 cases by individual schools and for the district on our website here: https://www.bamberg1.net/covidupdates . The information is updated each Friday afternoon. We continue to see few weekly positive case numbers at each school in comparison to our enrollment, at less than 1%. The district is continuing to follow all South Carolina Department of Education, DHEC, and Centers for Disease Control guidelines regarding social distancing, mask-wearing, and handwashing. We limit the number of students on school buses, where students have assigned seats to ensure social distancing on the bus. In classrooms and wherever possible, Plexiglas guards are utilized, and classrooms and other spaces are set up for social distancing to the extent possible as well.
