For the inaugural flight, Bahrain Air operated on one of its brand new A320 aircraft Speaking to the media Mr. Ibrahim Al Hamer Said, "We are very confident to launch Bahrain Air's 21st destination to Najaf and support in the country's reconstruction. Trade, business and cultural relationship between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Iraq maintain to develop and grow. Because of estimated at two million pilgrims' passengers a year from various regions of the Islamic world and the placement of Najaf international Airport on the map of regional and International airports Bahrain Air launched this route as an added service to its passengers, we look forward to building a strong customer base in the country, which is widely considered one of the region's fastest growing markets." The Deputy of Najaf governor, a number of Iraqi officials and Iraqi local media were presented to welcome the inaugural flight and to greet the delegation led by Mr. Ibrahim Abdulla Al Hamer, Managing Director & comprising of senior management of Bahrain air and local media. Flight 2B474 departed Bahrain International Airport at 11:50 and arrived at Najaf International Airport at 13:35. Bahrain Air operates 5 weekly flights to Najaf and twice weekly flights to Baghdad, every Friday and Wednesday departing Bahrain International Airport at 11:50 local time arriving at Baghdad International Airport 13:45.
