Baget is a brand new food concept based on the Banh Mi, a Vietnamese street food invented during the Indo-chine period when the French colonised Vietnam in the late 1800s. This period created a fusion of cuisine that many welcome as a celebration of the best of both cultures. The French brought over their crispy, crunchy baguettes with pates and ch... arcuterie meats and the locals added the flavours of Vietnam, incorporating chillies, coriander, pickles, fresh vegetables and sauces. This created a taste and texture sensation making it the popular street food it is today. The biggest difference between Baget and so many other Banh Mi outlets is our focus on keeping the flavours true to form and authentic. So much of Asian food is twisted and changed to being indistinguishable from their original form. Baget is about keeping the age old family recipes true and alive. We are passionate making our product authentic and regionally specific; focusing on two key products and doing it well. The recipes are a closely guarded family secret dating back to the earliest instances of Banh Mi in Saigon. It is the real deal. Our mission is to bring the Baget experience to the world.
