AY Technologies was founded in 2001 by Gary Breed. The company was created with a twofold mission: 1. Provide useful, well-designed and well-made antenna products for amateur radio and commercial communications 2. Offer expert services to companies serving the radio-frequency (RF), microwave, wireless communications, electromagnetic compatibility (... EMC) and industrial/scientific RF markets. Gary Breed has more than 30 years experience in engineering design, technical consulting and technical writing and publishing. His most recent experience has been as owner/publisher of RF Technology International magazine, part owner and Editorial Director of High Frequency Electronics magazine, President of Noble Publishing Corporation and Publisher of Applied Microwave & Wireless magazine. Past work includes service as Editor & Associate Publisher of RF Design magazine, Editorial Director of EMC Test & Design magazine and organizer of technical conferences at the RF Expo and EMC International trade shows. His writing experience includes about 1500 publications technical articles, commentaries, news reports, business analyses, tutorials, peer-reviewed conference papers and contributions to textbooks. Gary is a member of ARRL, RSGB and IEEE. He is a member of the IEEE Antennas & Propagation Society, Electromagnetic Compatibility Society and Microwave Theory and Techniques Society, where he serves on Technical Commitee MTT-17, "HF, VHF, UHF Technology. He is also on the steering committee of the IEEE Wireless and Microwave Technology Conference (WAMICON). Gary's technical interest began at the age of 9, building a crystal set from plans in an old book about radio, which led to his first amateur radio license in 1961 (WN9AYP).
